Every year, the third Tuesday of March brings with it a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment. This year, World Social Work Day 2026 arrives with a theme that speaks directly to the heart of what social workers do every single day: “Co-Building Hope and Harmony.”
And Zimbabwe is ready to celebrate in a big way.

On Tuesday, 17 March 2026, social workers from across Zimbabwe are invited to converge at Harare Gardens for a national celebration that promises to be both meaningful and memorable.
Hosted by the Council of Social Workers Zimbabwe (CSWZ) — under the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare (MPSLSW) — and organised in collaboration with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), this event is more than a gathering. It is a declaration of the profession’s vital role in the fabric of Zimbabwean society, convened in terms of the Social Workers Act [Chapter 27:21].
